Ashveta Budhrani

Ashveta Budhrani (she/her, they/them) is an artist, designer, and engineer who starts where most design stops. Born in Mumbai, she began her career behind a lens as one of India’s first female celebrity music photographers, documenting artists for MTV Coke Studio and MTV Unplugged. But image alone was not enough. She wanted to build work that could be felt.

That shift took her from photography to fine art, from the San Francisco Art Institute to Parsons School of Design, where, as a Dean’s Merit Scholar, studied global platforms such as the Venice Biennale, Documenta, and Skulptur Projekte Münster. Named one of San Francisco’s Top 20 Emerging Artists, her work has since been exhibited across India, the United States, Germany, and China.

At the center of her practice is a clear conviction: the spaces where people feel truly seen are not accidental. They are designed, or they are designed out. Through braille, tactile systems, and multisensory experience, she creates work that does not just accommodate, but invites.

As the founder of The Blue Soul, she builds environments where people can exhale, reorient, and belong, treating accessibility not as compliance, but as a force that makes design more rigorous and more human.

Art is not a spectacle. It is a bridge. That is what she builds.
